According to rumor, the infamous collection of Potter Healing Books contain potions and spells that will render the caster immortal. This legend mostly began after the marriage of Ann Wen and Fleamont Potter, but both strongly denied that validity of it. James was skeptical, but admitted that the secrets of the library could certainly lengthen the life of the user, though he showed no interest in doing so. It is because of this myth that many believed that James had secretly survived the attack on Godric's Hollow in 1871.
