Aliquid Ex Nihilo
Aliquid Ex Nihilo - which is celestial for "something from nothing", is one of the major factions participating in Ragnarok. They are arguably the most extreme faction present. They believe that the very structure of the world is flawed and corrupt. Cataclysms have come dozens of times now, and it is the same story every time. The people regain what the lost from the previous disaster. They establish a new order, so that "things will be different". They grow complacent. Complacency leads to their downfall. The cycle repeats itself, ad infinitum. This cycle, according to Aliquid Ex Nihilo, can only be ended one way: the world must start anew. Not just in the normal sense, where survivors rebuild what was lost. No, absolutely everything must be destroyed. Once there are no planes left to inhabit, they believe that whatever greater being brought the world into existence would begin anew, creating an entirely new world that would not be subject to the flaws of the current one. As such, they seek not just the death of all gods, but all mortals too. They seek power sufficient to wipe the slate clean entirely, and they will stop at nothing to achieve that end.
The faction is led by Nihilo, a charismatic tabaxi paladin with thick black fur and gleaming purple armor. Tornac is also a former member, though his memories of this time have been lost ever since Lucan Pavalur won the game and used his wish to rewrite histor.
