Phyloph
Phyloph is a small underground village located in the Underdark beneath The Mirrored Savanna. It is home to a large clan of neutral myconids who welcome visitors but rarely travel far from their own village willingly. They are a gentle people, but they are also powerful fighters and will defend themselves with considerable aplomb if threatened. This unique disposition has caused the village to become a common meeting spot to draw up treaties, truces, trade deals, and similar arrangements between two warring parties. The other powers of the Underdark consider Phyloph and its surrounding territories a sort of demilitarized zone. The myconids do allow weapons into their village but will swiftly and aggressively put an end to any armed conflict within its borders.
The village used to worship Corellon Larethian, but since his death in Ragnarok the populace has been divided. The ruling family and their supporters want the village to remain secular now that their old patron is dead, but others wish for the government to follow the teachings of their patron's successor, The Dagda.
Government
Phyloph is ruled by a powerful ruling family, the eldest among which is considered the village leader and rules with absolute authority. Their power is not absolute, however, and if one of their members is blessed by the villages deity then they are seen to have authority surpassing even that of the ruling family.
