HabLock
LBN's architectural landscape consists almost entirely of stacked and interlocking cuboid HabLocks. Modified from standard HaBlock patterns, the HabLock is a stackable low cost fortified cell with the minimum apertures required for light and ventilation. Standard InMate HabLocks are generally cast in hard setting compounds mixed with super high tensile aggregates making them virtually impenetrable. Dangerous InMates are kept in adaptive modular units which resize and reposition according to prisoner need and behaviour.
Living conditions within the HabLock vary across the social strata of LBN but revolve around a minimal common standard. Each HabLock is equipped with a ReproUnit containing files for the majority of low grade permitted consumables an InMate requires.
As a rule, larger HabLock cubes are awarded to higher Q_rankers or viciously seized by influential InMates. Due to the thick pall of smog that permeates much of LBN, HabLocks on higher levels are especially prized.
Old sections of HabLock that become structurally unstable due to defective materials, BlackSpot and other conditions are abandoned with new cubes built around and over them. Consequently large and often undocumented voids occur in LBN’s structure, occasionally providing refuge for InMates on the run and those hiding from LBN’s unblinking surveillance.
