ShiteHawk

The ShiteHawk is a large aggressive bird, common to the coastal stretches of the LBN. Perfectly camouflaged with grey and white plumage, the ShiteHawk thrives on the GigaCity's waste dumps and BlastWalls outlets where large flocks congregate in deafening, squabbling chaos. Although predominantly scavengers by nature, ShiteHawks will occasionally target lone InMates and FED operatives.
Rarely a welcome sight, the ShiteHawk gets its name from its temperamental digestive system, constantly aggravated by a diet of toxic refuse. It’s resulting excrement is both shockingly excessive and corrosive, eating through a vehicles paint work in minutes.
From generations of scavenging through ever more robust materials the ShiteHawk has RapidEvolved a beak tip capable of piercing and rending metal. Partially digested metals are deposited into the beaks structure further strengthening it as the bird matures. An adult ShiteHawk’s beak can penetrate a [SKUM suit with relative ease. These beaks are prized by InMates who fashion them into crude but effective shivs. Persistent attacks by flocks of ShiteHawks have been known to compromise medium armoured FED patrol vehicles.
On LBN’S InSide, ShiteHawks often nest on the top of HabLocks, blocking vents with messy nests of scavenged materials. Corrective McOlor transmitters and surveillance systems are cyclically vandalised by adult ShiteHawks collecting nesting materials. ShiteHawks become exceptionally aggressive around nesting season when they will attack any perceived intrusion to their nesting grounds.
Despite tasting of the waste they consume, ShiteHawk flesh and eggs make their way into InMates diets. InMates occasionally train particularly cunning ShiteHawks to perform basic tasks, notably stealing shiny objects and attacking faces; the birds piercing, mocking laugh generally ensures a short working relationship.
The rarer Greater ShiteHawk is much feared for its propensity to mass dive bomb targets, smashing their armour piercing beaks into their victim at the speed of a cruising car.
