Pelayar

The capital of the Banyak Principality, Pelayar is a sprawling metropolis of trade and cultures, filled with colors and nature.
  Pelayar is the capital and largest city of the Banyak Principality located on the western edge of Takjub It is also known as the Aurora Garden, due to the exotic and beautiful plants that grow in the area. Parks and wildlife areas are common in the capital and there are many places to wander about the interesting flora of the island.

Government

The city is ruled by Prince Farah Astuti, who was appointed by the Eight Lords two years previous.

A stone brick wall surrounds the city, except for the dockside.

Industry & Trade

As the capital of the principality and the place where the merchant lords hold their meetings, many of the goods that go from the smaller cities first travel through the capital. They also provide exotic herbs, spices, and fruits. Including vanilla, saffron, and mango.

Daffodil Ward

One of the two residential districts of Pelayar located on the eastern side of the city, many of the buildings in this district is either made from stone or bricks, often with yellow shingled roofs.

    The dockside consists of the area and buildings surrounding the docks of Pelayar. Many artisans and merchandise producers have their work buildings in this area. The buildings in the area are often made from timber and plaster. Commonly covered in shingled roofs of blueish or lilac coloration.

  • Honey Ward

    The honey ward is the governmental district in Pelayar. Most of the buildings here are either embassies or offices working under the regent, such as guard headquarters and jurisdiction. The taxes regulated from the honey ward are very minimal, instead, the government lets trading unions set their rates, from which they pay a portion to the government. Many of the buildings in the honey ward are beautifully decorated to match the surrounding area. Often painted in a large array of colors.     The southern part of Pelayar marks the peony ward, which is the second residential district of the city. Most buildings here are made from lumber or plaster, with red shingles or colored red sides.

    Eight Lords of Banyak

    Although they operate all around the Banyak Principality, the eight lords have their seats in the amber palace here in Pelayar.

    Tri-guard

    The guardforce of the principlaity have their headquarters here in the capital. The tri-guard is not the most well trained military organization but they excell at naval combat and their versatility due to the many different types of people in the guardforce.

    Daffodil Ward

    Hammer's Furnace
    This blacksmith is a simple plaster and wood-framed building, with a small fenced yard and a pond. It contains a large open floor with pillars and everything is covered in dust and metal shrapnel. A wandering band is playing right outside. It is owned by Tagga Bradshaw, a female half-orc. Large tusks come from her strong jaw. She is muscular and several soot marks can be seen across her arms and her black dreads tied together at the back.

    In a street of colorful trees is a small store selling magical items.
    The Liquid Truth
    This three-story lumber inn consists of a large ground floor which is the tavern and rooms patrons can rent on the two upper floors. The kitchen is situated in the basement. The inn is owned and maintained by Var'Alyn, a female wood elf with shoulder-length copper hair, brown skin, and piercing emerald eyes. Her attire consists of earth-tone colors, suggesting she prefers comfort over finery. The tavern part serves a large variety of ales.

    Honey Ward

    Amber Palace
    This white marble building with an orange roof serves as the city hall of Pelayar and is the meeting place of the Eight Lords of Banyak where they make the governmental decisions of the nation.

    It is also the home of the prince Farah Astuti. Additionally, it serves as the workplace for their Root-Commander Yuliani Berasa, who commands the Tri-guard as well as the court-mage Iman Sidari.
    The Crocum Agency
    This is the guildhall for the Cataegis Company in Pelayar The guildhall is a plaster single-story building with an orange shingle roof and white clay tiles on the inside reception. The reception is like most cataegis agencies, a large open chamber with a single wooden counter opposite the door, and several boards for requests on each side.

    The manager of the agency is a female water genasi called Kaiya Hori and the receptionist is a female human called Rhoda Daulay.

    Peony Ward

    The Brass Compass
    Located in a small alley, the general store is a stone-walled tower, with a black shingled roof and a large cellar. It was once a barracks and has a collection of arms and armor. It contains cobwebs in the corners and the walls are covered in paintings and advertisements. It is owned by Paul Wakefield, a male halfling with Short brown curly hair with shaved sides. Roughly shaved beard and forest green eyes. Wears a breastplate with the symbol of a peacock on it, the symbol of Eledhen in Goldmoor.
