Clayton Carter

Clayton Carter is the son of Evelyn Carter, an investigative journalist who was trying to expose Dr. Lucian Graves and was on the verge of uncovering a conspiracy he was involved in. Dr. Graves manipulated her memories and making her forget the details of her investigation. The strain caused her paranoid delusions and fragmented memories and she was placed in a mental institution on Dr. Graves' recommendation. Dr. Graves offered counseling to the family "in this terrible time" and discovered that Evelyn's son possessed metahuman abilities. With subtle manipulation, Dr. Graves convinced the family that the Ravensmore Academy would be the perfect school for Clayton and would allow Dr. Graves to continue to counsel the young man and come to terms with his mother's situation.
Over the past two and a half years, Clayton has become the pride of Ravensmore Academy. He is the most popular student in the school, a star athelete, and maintains the highest GPA at the Academy. He has also become the most successful test subject for The Phantom and Dr. Graves' brainwashing program.
The faculty has made sure that Clayton was able to hone his metahuman abilities to their peak and has already arranged for Clayton to attend Columbia University once he graduates from Ravensmore Academy.
