Southern Duchies
The Southern Duchies are a region of the Kingdom of Bartol, located along the eastern coast, south of the East March.
The Southern Duchies are made up of a series of small independent territories each ruled by a duke or duchess. While each duchy is independent and has its own 'capital' (where the ducal seat is located), the Duchy of Ansleah is the oldest and largest, and its ducal seat of Riverburough is considered the capital of the region.
In rough order of seniority, the current rulers for each territory (and the location of the ducal seat for each) are:
Armond Haverdover, Duke of Ansleah (Riverburough)
Ellen Stoughwick, Duchess of Marne (Marnosa)
Martin Newlow, Duke of Rugcastle (Rugcastle)
Ardel Maymond, Duke of Burtonel (Temiswick)
Danelle Fresnala, Duchess of Shaunach (Benport)
Hadford 'Hal' Pogonus, Duke of Englen (Engleterre)
