Kiin'kir Filvii
It's the mouth. It's definitely the mouth, it's freaking me out. And...is that its nose or is that a part of the mouth. I suppose it's terrifying enough as I'm pretty sure I'd piss myself if I saw one those flying towards me. It's impressive you guys can ride these things.Directly east of the Barbatos Domain, separating the Zan'val kii Kulvii'iir and the Zan'val kii Zul'pashnaniir, in the mountains of the Kiin'kir Range, is a creature of terror and magnificence. The Kiin'kir Filvii, a winged demon capable of releasing a chilling and deadly frost breath. And every year, in the Kiin'kir Valley, many try to challenge the demon. But these hopes are mostly in vain; many challengers return with missing limbs, or some even are frozen alive. But there are also those that challenge the demon and win, gaining the demons respect and trust. Among the challengers are the ones that many also call the Noble Filvii Riders, House Barbatos.- Mikiin "Mickii" Servos
A Winged Demon of Terror and Magnificence
The Kiin'kir Species
There are seven known species of Filvii, but those native to the Kiin'kir Range are the most well known. Like all Filvii, the Kiin'kir species is capable of prolonged flight. It has the signature hunchback shape when it is standing; however, unlike its cousins, this species can extend its lower backbone outwards and lock it in this position. The upper body of the demon, its "torso," is large and bulky, covered in black or dark brown fur. Its head is snubbed, and two large and curled horns protrude from it. What many have considered being the ugliest of the seven Filvii species, the face of the Kiin'kir Filvii is reputable for being the ugliest as well as the most terrifying. This is due primarily to its cleft nose, which many have referred to as "a third eye that gazes into the soul." The nose of the demon is not separated from its mouth and appears to be a vertical extension of it. The demon's mouth also boasts the largest teeth of the seven species, its teeth capable of tearing away flesh. The demon has two skinny, but long arms. These arms extend almost the entirety of the demon's body, and when resting on the ground at full length, give the demon a tall stance. The hands of the demons are lined with four short, but sharp claws, easily able to lacerate any unfortunate to get close to it. Of the Filvii species, the Kiin'kir Filvii is the only one capable of producing any breath attack. The demon can unleash a deadly frost breathe capable of freezing devils within seconds. This frost breath, in a mature Kiin'kir Filvii, averages around -72°F (-57.77°C) at speeds of 48mph (77.5kph).The Noble Filvii Riders
Most notable for riding the demons is House Barbatos. Members of the House, before every winter, go into the Kiin'kir Valley to challenge and tame the Filvii. The House is famous for always coming back with at least one tamed Filvii. House Barbatos is also renowned for being able to successfully breed the demon, having an entire farm of them to use the demons as winged mounts. Bred Filvii are only used in House Barbatos's Ol'viilun. Each member of House Barbatos has their own personal Filvii. When a member turns 16, it's a tradition that they go into the Kiin'kir Valley alone. This tradition has the member go and challenge a single Filvii to tame it. However, this tradition also deems that whichever Filvii the member can tame, is to be its partner for life. Upon taming, the Barbatos member gives his/her Filvii a unique name. Most of the time, they give their Filvii a name of one of the Elders from their lineage.
