Sharov's World

Sharov's World is a habitable planet orbiting Rigil Kentaurus Prime. It was the second planet of Alpha Centauri to be settled. Originally simply known as Rigil Kentaurus c, it was soon named in honor of Aviam Sharov after the Terpenie tragedy  . The Planet is slightly smaller than Earth, with a surface gravity of about 0.8 g. It is located at the outer edge of the star's habitable zone and thus has a cold climate. Most settlements are concentrated in the planet's tropical regions, where temperatures are comparable to those in central Europe.
Sharov's World has a single supercontinent, stretching from the southern tropical regions all the way to the north pole. Much of the surrounding ocean is hidden between the sizable ice caps. The majority of settlements are located at the coast, to take advantage of the milder climate.
There are no known indigenous life forms on the planet, though much of its large oceans remains unexplored.
