The Brightening Shrines

Many centuries ago, during the creation of the realm of Prototokos, there was a meeting between Celestial Gods and Cosmic Beings. In an attempt to create a more peaceful and fair realm, the higher powers came to agreement... To place 12 shrines on the plane of Prototokos, 6 Celestial Shrines and 6 Cosmic Shrines. These standing features would represent a new beginning, a harmony between powers, a fair order between life and death. These shrines would come together once per year, raining down a beautiful bright rainbow affect on the entire realm, and creating tranquility. This went on for centuries, 18,675 years, to be precise, keeping balance and ensuring that Prototokos would remain the one true, fair and balanced realm.

But as the ladder has written, The Brightening stopped and so started The Shadow. What caused this amazing event to cease and what brought upon this new time of chaos and unbalance in uncertain. Whispers of why have tormented the races of Prototokos for 500 years now. Yet, nothing has factually come to be... The whereabouts and locations of 10 of the shrines has been documented. It is believed that all 6 Cosmic Shrines have been located - Enas, Dyo, Tessera, Epta, Okto and Enteka -

While only 4 Celestial Shrines have been discovered - Tria, Exi, Deka and Dodeka. Some shrines have even had entire cities and chapels built around them, as a way to protect and celebrate such empowering workings. While other shrines have been forgotten and abandoned, causing many to believe that the higher powers have forgotten about their once tranquil realm. Many have searched out the remaining two Celestial shrines, but nothing has yet been uncovered. Some still search today, mostly treasure hunters and archeologists who plan to document their finds for the sake of popularity or personal gain, which proves the point that the time of The Brightening may be lost. Or perhaps just needs a little hope from some unlikely believers...
