Meinheld

A strange cluster of dwellings in the Bruadar Mountains which is currently occupied by The Ancestral Order.

Infrastructure

The Slatehouse
The bottom-most dwelling, named after Meinheld’s foundation.
2nd floor: bedrooms
1st floor: Common area, kitchen, bedrooms
Basement (low ceiling): Storage (Food, rations, equipment)

The Springhouse
Multi leveled house.
Has a natural spring flowing through it. Engineered to flow through an aqueduct system, such that the upper source can be used for drink, and the flowthrough can be used for bathing.
Walking in from the left, a large dining chamber, with a long wooden table and benches. Along the far wall staircase that goes up to a kitchen area. This is where the master value to the spring inlet is. Along the same back wall, another staircase which descends to the basement. The basement ceiling displays an open network of pipes which lead to first a smaller chamber containing old gear and equipment (including a whetstone wheel), and then on the other side of the wall baths and shower areas.

The Skyhouse
Largest dwelling at the top containing the most living quarters.
3rd floor: Bedrooms, storage, roof access
2nd floor: Common area, Schooling chamber, kitchen, bedrooms
Common area of the skyhouse, classdoor leading to classroom, library, large old couch and chairs around an unlit fireplace, a staircase against the wall leads to a second story. Against the staircase stand several cabinets and shelves, that hold a whole series of alcohols, bottles, and jars, containing various things. In front of that a longer table protrudes out with lots of empty cups and plates
1st floor: Meinheld library, bedrooms
Basement: bedrooms, common area

The Cavern
An underground lair into the mountain that the Ancestral Order has expanded upon

The Outhouse
A small bump-out section of the Skyhouse
Lower section: Common area open to the outside (sort of like a big covered balcony), look out.
Upper section: Storage and bunk room.

The Courtyard
A garden area behind the Skyhouse. Lots of medicinal, alchemical herbs grown here, also food like tomatos, zucchini, dill, etc. Making your way around the precarious narrow walkways wind around the Skyhouse, underneath the Outhouse, and around back, you eventually come across a part of the mountain in which the order has planted a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and otherwise in a series of step-like gardens with crude stone walkways and steps that sort of chaotically connect the different leveled gardens together. At the heart of the courtyard is a central cobblestone circular platform, with like some benches and baskets and stuff.

History

Originally found by the Gnathu, vacant and abandoned. It was them how gave it the name Meinheld, which translated to Giant means “Empty Home”. They frequently occupied it for a while, until merging with the Kolae, and migrating eastward.
After Fwarnais’ raid of the hideout, the Ancestral Order needed to leave Bewylndir. It was Gondul who suggested asylum in an abandoned hamlet in the Bruadar mountains that his tribe used to speak of. The order arrived only a few days after the death of Lorraine, finding the buildings still vacant and in great disrepair. The first day they decided to scatter Lorraine and Recury’s ashes off the highest point in the mountain. As time went on, the abandoned homes were repaired, defenses were added, and a secret underground lair area that no one had initially realized was there was expanded upon.

Architecture

Meinheld appears from the exterior as small series of dwellings that appear to be human in make, which reside on the cliffside of the Bruadar Mountains several miles north of Cullfeild. The structures appear to be mainly cobblestone, and wood-structured, with slate rooves. The top most dwellings are built into the cliffside, with exterior and interior tunnels into the mountain itself. A narrow stone stair steeply leads up from the western end, and a zip-line leads downward to the eastern end.

Geography

Approaching from the west, the soft dirt ground become hard and rocky, flat land become steep and inclined. Some places even difficult for your horses to traverse. you find a small trickling creak, barely visible that runs down the mountain past you all. You follow that creak, through very difficult terrain. You all haven’t been traveling on a path for a while, but this looks as though Vel’s purposefully, going the most difficult way possible.
Finally, after a seemingly vertical climb, you all crest what you thinks is the top of the mountain, only to see it’s not the top. As more miles and miles of mountain stretches out before you. In front of you, a stagnant pond from where the water must’ve been trickling from. you know, that the way to Meinheld isn’t across the pond up the mountain. You see the very low hang cave on the cliff wall about 100 ft to your left. The ceiling of the opening only leaving about 1 foot between it and the water’s surface.
Heading further in, the low ceiling cave, opens up into a larger cavern, where one most crawl up and out of the deeper waters, on a rocky underground waterfall, for few miles. This slopes gradually but erratically downward, until eventually opening up to a small verdant valley, dense with vegetation. The two cliff faces grow closer and closer, and after about an hour of walking you see they appear to merge, except at they don’t. The valley continues up an incline at about a person’s width until you see manmade stairs going up and up, winding up the crack between the two cliff faces, hundreds of feet.
