Personal history
Many speak of Ørek as humble. Many speak of Ørek as familial. Many speak of Ørek as stern. But none have seen the life he has.
Born to a time of war with the mindflayers, Ørek only knew strife. At the age of 25, his family was killed in the Cleaving of the Overhang, but he was not distraught. He took their death during the proud defense of The Overhang as a sign that he must grow stronger. He immediately enlisted in the army despite being under the age of consent, insisting to his superiors that if he died, he would be of no more concern to them anymore. It was then, in the Battle of the Fissure only a few weeks later, where he was stated to have defended on the front lines of combat, killing over 3 mindwitnesses by his own hands. He was nearly felled in combat - many medical technicians assuming he would die from his wounds - Ørek required over 2 weeks of recovery in the infirmary; nevertheless, he was on two feet on his first day allowed to stand, and excused himself from medical attention. For his deeds and natural expertise, he quickly ascended to the rank of Leutnant, and his military career began.
Ørek continued his successes, first in the continued defenses of the Overhang, soon rising to the position of General of the Landstreitkräfte. His still in strategy and battle led him to leading a campaign, against recommendations from his peers, to destroy the Elder Brain in the 6th layer of the Abstieg. Although many lives were lost, his campaign was successful, and the hordes of mindflayers and their ilk were disbanded. It was said in the midst of battle, Ørek was psychically lured into the clutches of the Elder Brain, where its beak began digging into Ørek's skull. And yet, he lived on to fight another day.
His return from the Abstieg showed only one thing to Ørek: his government was as feeble as his mind against the Elder Brain. And there were easy solutions for this. He declared on prayer to The Triad for the rightful rulers to succeed the leadership, Emperor Hæðan, attempting to challenge him in single combat for the throne. Hæðan rejected outright, fearing to lose control. It was then, in the public square of Azar, that Ørek called for the fall of Emperor Hæðan on a prayer to Shay'athe. Street battles began between Ørek's loyal militants and the Imperial Wächter, but this resistance by Hæðan and his lack of honour for the code of trail by combat led to an all-out rebellion of the populace of Azar. Eventually, the citizenry rose up with Ørek, with Ørek littering the throne room with the grey matter of Hæðan, his body left to decompose in the Royal Promenade as tribute to Shay'athe.
Ørek has been a harsh and unmoving emperor, evolving the Imperium as he saw fit. He strengthened his connections to Quartz, while overseeing the expansion even further deep within the Abstieg. 70 years ago, in the battle against the Deep Dragons Aivunth and Rizae, Ørek himself could be found on the front lines. In the famous battle, He was swallowed whole by Aivunth as Rizae retreated into the Underdark. Only after the remainder of the elite troops slayed Aivunth were they able to disembowel the horrifying dragon and pull the body of Ørek out. The soldiers feared for his loss for the Imperium, as it would throw the nation into a bout of civil war for power dominance. But days later, after being brought back to Azar and his funeral preparations being made, Ørek rose from the dead completely unphased, taking his seat back on the throne to this very day.
Thereafter Ørek abandoned his former family name for Dreimalig, noting his three lives and his undying truth.
