Ashlend

Introduction

Located furthest from the dying sun, Ashlend is seen as a veritable paradise of warmth in comparison to the other dying continents. Enough heat still seeps from cracks in the dry earth to allow for life to grow. It is also notably home to the Throne of the Lord, the largest Depot on Hallus. It is here the Great Engine is repaired and readied for its next year-long journey.

Volcanic Release

Even before the SunFade, the continent of Ashlend located on a volcanic hotspot. The deep earth, ever churning against itself, forced the emergency of a volcanic mountain range down the center of the continent. These volcanic mountains, while mostly docile, expel great clouds of the eponymous ash that coats the continent. However, several times a year the pressure deep within the earth sends a devastating chain reaction of quakes and eruptions that run along the seam of the continent making the land near inhospitable even for the heat-devouring natives of Hallus.
