Obzedat
The Obzedat is an anomaly among the Paruns in that it acts as a single entity but consists many entities.
This group of spirits belong to the former Orzhov patriarchs and (though significantly less frequently) matriarchs, who ascended to the immortal ghost level. These autocrats had maintained their wealth and power even as they had shed their mortal forms, but once they entered the Obzedat, only their first names remained as they faded into the group. They were also known as Deathless, as they had managed to cheat mortality, maintaining their consciousness (and their greed) beyond the threshold of death. Most of the Deathless appeared as morbidly obese high priests or nobles, but sickly, pale, and ghostly in form. The head of the council, who gave final approval to the Obzedat's decisions was Karlov, who has been dead for centuries. The other members of the latest composition of the council are Enezesku, Fautomni, Vuliev, and Xil Xaxosz.
The Ghost Council resides deep under the Orzhov district in the central Ravnica and they meet in a special chamber within Orzhova, the Syndicate's Guildhall. It is said that this special chamber is a 'dead spot' within even the Guildpacts Law. It is possible that the founders of the Obzedat were the same Orzhov representatives who originally signed the Guildpact, or that they were replaced by others at that time. Membership of the Obzedat is granted for an excellent "performance" in life, but the entrance is subject to a probation period. The membership can also be canceled under exceptional conditions. The Obzedat rarely spoke directly with those outside the guild; instead, they communicated through the official Grand Envoy and great-great-great granddaughter of their oldest member, Teysa Karlov.
Wealth & Financial state
The wealth of the Obzedat is the wealth of the Syndicate. Their entire lives (and afterlives) represent the pinnacle of opulence and wealth. The Obzedat, when they aren't meeting in the Guildhall, have separate tombs beneath Orzhov territory. These tombs are vast and decorated expensively by the still living family. Though their bodies can no longer enjoy the amenities they once did, an ordinary person would not be aware of this as their visage in the Obzedat is always similar to how they were buried, with rings, necklaces, and baubles included.
