Because House Dimir's function is to attempt to break the Guildpact, arresting him for it was in violation of the Guildpact. This convoluted loophole allowed the Guild Leader of the Azorius Senate at the time to kill and possess this ancient mastermind. It is said that the spirit of Szadek lives on as a ghost and the current Guild Leader of House Dimir has claimed to consult his spirit in times of need. Many tragedies were written about the ironic death of Szadek. Even though House Dimir was not public knowledge before his death, many play writes saw the dramatic irony of a life lived puppeteering the masses only to be used by his greatest enemy in the end.
