City - Zettingen
Situated upstream of the Wayne river, at a distance from Weisswall, the city of Zettingen rests. This bustling city is organized around a sizable hill located near the river, featuring a thriving river port replete with drawbridges that ensure smooth land and river traffic.
Constructed with the quintessential Sturmgard white stone and adorned with cobalt roofing, the city glistens in the sunlight, emanating an aura of divinity nearly rivaling that of the capital. The hill forming the city's centerpiece is towering and rocky, home to the grand citadel of the renowned Paladins of Arish. This holy order is charged with maintaining the realm's internal stability, primarily through the hunting and expulsion of the cursed, undead, monsters, fiends, vampires, and other malevolent forces of dark magic.
The citadel itself is a sprawling complex snaking around the hill, culminating in a magnificent hall at the peak. This lies at the heart of the keep, providing a hub for the Paladin order's leadership to reside and coordinate operations.
Zettingen, as a city, extends widely, with its core nestled on the river's very banks, guarded by its own defensive wall. Yet, due to significant growth and its secure geographical position within the heart of the Reich, it has outgrown its original boundaries, sprawling along the incoming roads without necessitating the construction of many new defensive structures.
Nestled within the verdant expanse of the Wayn Valley, Zettingen is encircled by a tapestry of fertile farmland that feeds the city and contributes significantly to its prosperity. To the east, the city's boundary blurs into the lush Elderwood forest, where ancient trees stand sentinel. To the west, rolling meadows stretch towards the hills of the Hinterlands, periodically punctuated by quaint, bustling hamlets, contributing to the vibrant rural charm of the region.
