Location
Nestled at the unforgiving northern extremity of
Normanland, where the icy tundra gives way to the desolate expanse ofÂ
The Frost Wastes, the
Hrafnir clan has etched out a stark existence. Their home is a
subterranean fortress hewn from the rocky core under
Raven's Peak's glacier, an architectural marvel that shields them from the relentless elements. The mountains are somewhat distant from the coast, yet, for most of the year, the sea this far north is a solid, frozen expanse. For sustenance, the Hrafnir delve deep into the underworld, fishing in the subterranean rivers and lakes, foraging for mushrooms, and hunting the elusive creatures that roam these cryptic depths.
The Icy Fortress
The entrance to stronghold of the Hrafnir clan is carved in to Raven's Peak glacier. Delve below the surface, and one is met with a vast rocky cavern, where clusters of stone buildings huddle around the warmth of blazing fires that provide both heat and light. Despite the seemingly cramped architecture designed to conserve space, the dwellings are not the sole structures within this underground haven.
At the heart of the settlement lie
ancient ruins, mysterious and foreboding, relics of a civilization not of Dwarven origin, but something far more
archaic and enigmatic. The Hrafnir have laid claim to these ruins, transforming them into their clan hall and the Jarl's residence. Over generations, they've dedicated themselves to deciphering the mysteries enshrouded within these ruins, guarding their secrets with a possessive zeal. Their enduring hardship, poverty, and struggle in the face of the harsh climate seem a fair price for the promise of the long-lost power they hope to unearth.
And whispers are abound, that they have found it...
at long last...
The Clansfolk
The trying conditions of their habitat have shaped the character of the Hrafnir people. They've evolved into a
guarded, less trusting society, frequently perceived as
cold-hearted,
manipulative, and
greedy. This is likely a reflection of their frost-bitten homeland and the harsh struggles they face daily. Despite the challenges, they meet their circumstances with a grim determination and an unwavering resolve to endure. Their continuous struggle against the unforgiving land and elements is a testament to their
tenacity and
adaptability.
