Gairovalder
The Gairovalders are a sizable minority within the Empire, dominating its northwestern region. Their culture is unique within the Empire: their forbearers, the people of Teuo Tuyo were able to overthrow their suzerains without the direct assistance of the Great Rook during the fall of Arpak-La, and so resisted the influence of the Rook's realm of Asthuumry.
Unique among the Tusik peoples, the Gairovalders practice total gender equality and a system of governance based on the rule of a co-equal King and Queen.
Full-blooded Gairovalders are known for their pitch-black skin and hair, great height, and eyes of amber, black, gold, or grey. Men and women alike often elect to shave their heads, but this practice is less common among the nobility.
