Sandridge Port is unique because the entire settlement is owned and run by the Terra Nova Mining company. Located in the deserts of
Drak'thrun, Sandridge Port is interested in one thing only, the extraction of a mineral called
X-Phlogh. The settlement is designed to accommodate the Terra Nova Mining company workers and their families.
Leadership
Sandridge Port is run by a human named Magnus Nox, an appointed representative of the Terra Nova Mining Company. Nox is always dressed in a freshly pressed Terra Nova uniform of blue and gold. He is an aging man with a white beard and a mean-looking face. He has been recently accused of ignoring the well-being and safety of the settlement's residents or workers and prioritizing his own interests and profits. The Terra Nova Mining Company investigated the claims and "found no issues" with Nox's leadership.
Go With The Phlogh
Each cycle a new batch of workers boards a Grav-Train and heads into the mountains of the Red Shaar. Once the train arrives underground they follow the path on foot even deeper until they arrive at their assigned dig site. There they will begin the extraction of the mineral known as X-Phlogh. This powerful substance can supercharge healing potions, or when ingested can deliver a feeling of euphoria for several hours. Many critics claim that Terra Nova is fueling the drug trade and ruining the environment impacting thousands of locals. The Terra Nova Mining Company investigated the claims and "found no impact to locals".
The Colony
Sandridge Port has been accused of multiple abuses within the colony including issues with waste disposal, lack of clean water, and inadequate sanitation facilities. The living conditions are said to be overcrowded, with poorly maintained housing units. The settlement's streets and public areas are littered with trash and debris, with little or no street lighting to "ensure the safety of residents and workers". The Terra Nova Mining Company investigated the claims and "found no abuse" at Sandridge Port.
The Dark Side of the Moon
Due to the intense heat and arid conditions of the settlement's environment, water is a scarce resource. To address this challenge, Sandridge Port transports ice from the dark side of Drak'Thrun, where water freezes almost instantly.
To transport ice back to Sandridge Port the settlement uses Grav-trains which are a common mode of transportation on Drak'Thrun. These trains are embued with the power of Dunamancy that allow them to levitate above the ground and move at high speeds along a predetermined path. The ice would then be loaded onto the Grav-Trains, which would transport it back to Sandridge Port along the same route. Without this source of water the settlement of Sandridge Port would not be able to exist.
