Drak'thrun

Drak'thrun is a satellite of Coliar and nicknamed the Sphere of Splendors. An ironic name for this desolate and barren moon.

Climate
It revolves around and spins on its axis in perfect synchrony causing one half of the planet to always be bathed in light and the other in perpetual darkness. This phenomenon causes the light-side to experience temperatures on average of 125 degrees and the dark-side to reach minus 80. The thinning atmosphere and harsh radiation from the sun has caused extreme weather on Drak'thrun. Visitors should expect the upper atmosphere to be in constant turmoil making landing extremely difficult for Spelljammers. Cyclones will form where the hot and cold hemispheres meet kicking up large amounts of dust and rock into the air. This makes travel by flight extremely dangerous so locals prefer riding mounts on the ground.
Inhabitants
The light-side of Drak'thrun can be harsh, but some creatures decide to endure. A large society of Thri-kreen nomads call this planet home in the mountain ranges nicknamed the Red Shaar. They are led by Tiktikik who has recently banded multiple tribes together in the name of the Eternal Lotus. Some spacefaring Thri-kreen do not agree with the religion often calling it "extreme".
The humans have set up a small mining community called Sandridge Port. Much to the annoyance to the local lifeforms these humans venture deep into the mountains of Drak'thrun to extract what they call X-Phlogh (Pronounced X Flow). The company that runs this operation is the Terra Nova Mining co. who specialize in stripping lesser worlds of their resources. To help make themselves comfortable, ice is shipped by grav-train from the dark-side of the moon.

On the other hand we know very little of the dark-side of Drak'thrun. Most assume that no life could sustain itself within the fridged temps.
