Kingdom of Caldraria

Caldraria is a large nation, spanning both on, south and north of the equator. Temperatures range from 5° to 40°C. The most common biome is savanna but the variations in temperature and water access gives Caldraria varied biomes throughout from hot deserts to glaciers.

Structure

The Calder Queen or King have almost complete executive, legislative and judiciary rule, with an appointed council that exercises their will and designated representatives in each province.

History

Founded 3200 BU, Caldraria is the oldest still standing kingdom in the world. Even if the borders of each province may have shifted throughout the years, Caldraria stands largely the same. Sharing borders with almost all other nations, Caldraria has an important role in the keeping of trade routes and diplomacy in the Post-Unity world.

Demography and Population

Roand, Lesse, Rulan and Eldayr are the most common cultures.

Religion

The most common religion of Caldraria is Denary, but there is no recognized state religion.

Foreign Relations

Caldraria remains neutral in the conflict between Shalehal Theocracy and Bes Democracy, and have good relations with both Abar and Kingdom of Nar. There is some tention in the northern isles where borders are shared with Nar and Toldero, but the conflicts are fairly localized.

  • Caldraria is the largest exporter of leather, pearl and kelp. It also is one of the largest exporter of precious gems.

Architecture

Caldrarian architecture is rustic, with dwellings often made of wood and larger fortresses, castles and temples in stone. Grass on the roof, low walls with high ceilings, and lush gardens are common.

Clothing

Caldrarian clothing varies with class. Priests of the Denary wear long red robes, the working class simple tunics and long dresses with hoods, and the noble class and leaders of the nation can be seen clad in gowns and other extravagant clothing.

Fashion

To properly follow Caldrarias clothing customs, the colour red is only worn by those in service to the faith with the exception of when textiles are repurposed for interior design or details in other clothing. Linen, hemp and wool are common materials, with different types of plaid and checkered patterns changing in fashion. Heeled boots and decorative large brooches are common accessories.

Military

Military uniforms consist of waxed and padded gambesons in yellow and blue, with the Denary symbol often raised on flags together with the Caldrarian emblem.

Legislative Body
The legislative branch is a bicameral parliament consisting of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Nominees are selected by the people, but the monarch has the last say. The Calder monarch can veto laws, but the legislative branch also has the power to impeach the monarch.
Judicial Body
Every province has their court, but judges often work in more than one province. The capital Nurkald-Ni has its own judicial body, separate from the rest of the land. The monarch have the power to pardon criminals and grant clemency, overruling the judge's decision.
