Francis di Floranna
The leader of The Allspeakers .
Francis di Floranna is a member of the powerful House di Floranna , one of the Great Families of Apex . House di Floranna was for a long time the most elevated of all the houses, however the shift in power following the introduction of magic into society has seen their position decline markedly. Unlike all the other houses the Di Florannas refused to hire mages for retainers, or to have any dealings with magic at all. This and other developments, for instance the rise of the House di Valletta , have undermined the power of House di Floranna.
After the murder of Albron the Allspeaking in 2059 the di Florannas funded the creation of the anti-magic organization The Allspeakers . Francis became its leader. As a cousin of the main branch of the family he was distant enough that the main branch could have deniability if something untoward occurred.
Francis has proven to be a clever and charismatic leader. Under his leadership the Allspeakers has gained much influence with the Conservative factions in the Apex Senate. His trick has been to distance the Allspeakers from political causes outside of the opposition to arcane magic. In this way he has managed to create a broad coalition in opposition to The Liberal Magi .
