They say Marel and her twin brother Juliar were created to represent the views of Kaurus and Argus respectively among the gods of the First Generation. From the city of Umbra Marel rules half of the elves. She is a tyrannical ruler over a matriarchal and martially inclined society.

Personal history
Created as the representative of Kaurus the Unmaker in the First Generation of new gods. She was created alongside Juliar, her twin and polar opposite. Myths say that the elven people were created to shepherd the mortal races, and as such were given longer lives by Argus. Marel and Juliar were supposed to lead the elven race.
Marel and Juliar eventually came to rule the western provinces. She constructed the city of Umbra from the 5th century. In 1322 they broke with the Ordering. Since then she has ruled the Sundar alongside her brother. She is still somewhat loyal to Kaurus, and her brother remains attached to Argus.
