2022/08/03: Dreams of The Apprentice Part 1 Report

Spent most of the afternoon and evening resting and rememorizing. Late in the day, got a new missive from Doyle. There’s a sociopathic ex-slave child who had been under the control of the corrupted eunuchs, but he’s a genius and managed to get even better with Corruption than they were. He killed all of them and is now sneaking around the capital, infiltrating factions and taking them down from the inside in hopes of bringing down civilization. He has extremely powerful mind control, among other things. Master of Corruption. Doyle raised the possibility that we may need to nuke the city to make sure we get him, because we don’t know where in there he is.
Went to talk to a naga. Got a golden chit that would get us an audience with the high naga court, including the naga queen. Buzz went to get info from Doyle. Sith got a golden Apple of Existence from his wife. Eldrin used his academic experience to put together a presentation for the naga queen, aided by witness and character testimony from Usagi, Budo, the Unicorn Clan, and the elder fire dragon.
Everyone but Buzz went to meet the naga queen. She’s huge. She wants our help with some things afterwards, specifically from Knight and Eldrin. We’ll probably need to kill someone named Tal-Han. In exchange, she sent a group of nine of her senior minions to guide us to the heart of “the anomaly”.
We were able to cut our way through the corrupted anomaly into the kid’s mind. Few magical items or spells work, with mostly dream-based items and imagination working. Progress inside: lake of blood with slenderman monster -> bone staircase up -> flaky wood staircase up with sounds of a still in the background -> distorted tall door with lock and barred window -> screechy voice on other side of door, armed with a knife (old man, died in a fall) -> influence trying to make Knight sadistic or evil (as whispers in the mind, a feeling of anger, etc.) -> old hag’s hut or similar with little shadow people (or shadows of people) in cages above pots and the like.
