Iron-bound book of Skelos

The book of Lore is heavily warded and locked for its contents have driven many mortals insane.

The names of several fiends, spells from Mythos Magic, Void Magic, and Fiendish Magic are contained in the tome.

Worse yet, sanity-blasting rituals to the The Great Old Ones are found within the text.

The text is cryptic and contains many gaps since it was apparently a very evil wizard's notes on multiple ways to create immense devastation.

History

The book was found on a ghost ship adrift in the Ahlen Ocean by Detroit traders in 346. They brought it back to Detroit and delivered it to the The Temple-Library of Mendohr.

The orginal author, Skelos is believed to be a wizard of Ancient Acheron who had dealings with Vecna the Hidden. This is not certain because some of the writing suggests being contemporaneous with events which must have occured before the rise of Acheron.

Significance

The book is studied very cautiously by the The Fellowship of Miskatonic U. to create counterspells and measures to banish the fiends and creatures mentioned within the book.
