Elmo

Elmo is the current Lord of Hommlet who shares power with Burne  as representatives of the Viscounty of Verbobonc. Among his family are his mother, father (both deceased) and his brother Otis. He resides at the newly constructed castle at the south side of the village.   As a youth he served as a member of the militia but his talents as a hunter eventually led him to convincing his father to allow him to serve as a scout for the village. These excursions into the wilderness put him in harm’s way more than a few times and his exploits and generosity among the outland farmers garnered him a folk hero reputation.   During the time of the renewed Temple of Elemental Evil, Elmo found himself as the head of the Council of Hommlet, an informal governing body of town elders. After Burne was petrified at the hands of the Black Earth Cultists and Rufus had gone missing, Elmo saw that there was a need to raise funds and find a way to continue to finance the work of the adventurers who came to Hommlet's defense. He took advisement from notable heroes who suggested undertaking actions such as the construction of the wooden palisade that still remains to protect the village.   Elmo is fond of ale and is known to still spend an evening or two during the week cavorting with the locals at the Stumbling Ogre Inn. Though its true he likes to get inebriated, he also fakes intoxication at times to throw others off guard and get information from them. He ultimately has a kind heart and a very jovial personality. He takes his charge of protecting Hommlet with upmost responsibility and he is always on the lookout to lend a helping hand.   In a battle, Elmo is an extremely capable fighter and finds his way to the front lines to help defend his comrades. He wears chain mail and is often seen wielding a magical battleaxe which he inherited from his father. He knows a bit of druidic magic which he learned from Jaroo and draws from the Old Faith traditions he observes.   Elmo is an adherent to the Old Faith and worships Obad-hai and Beory.
