Session Report - Chapter 1: Saltbridge Docks
General Summary
Ileyaries Amakiir arrives at Saltbridge after leaving her Elven village, located in the Grantwood Forest, in search of adventure. Along with her adventuring gear and donkey (called Pascoe ), Ileyaries has in her possession a letter and set of directions from her mother, which she has been instructed to give to Patton Myrose, an old friend, when she arrives at her destination. A member of the Saltbridge Tracker's Guild, Myrose has agreed to take Ileyaries under his wing and mentor her in the guild's ways.
Meanwhile, under the cover of darkness, Ægira Naïlo arrives at Saltbridge, her rowboat slipping quietly into a berth at the Saltbridge Docks. Meeting a black-market contact away from the prying eyes of the local militia, Ægira plans to offload the illicit cargo she has brought with her. Ægira and the rest of her pirate crew have been at sea for many months and she has been looking forward to spending some of her ill-gotten gains before heading back out to sea in search of more booty. However, Ægira's crew betray her, knocking her unconscious and ransoming her to the black-market contact they were there to meet.
After a brief lesson on the Tracker Guild's rules, Myrose takes Ileyaries to Bridge Street . On the way he explains to her that there had been some problems with thieves stealing from merchants and their customers, and that the bridge council had commissioned the trackers to find and root out the vagabonds. Myrose believes that the thieves have a base of operation and plans to catch one of them in order to make them reveal the location of their compatriots.
When they arrive on Bridge Street, Myrose quickly spots a pickpocket, which Ileyaries catches after a short chase. The thief, a 14-year old boy named Rohan, tells Myrose and Ileyaries where they can find the gang they are looking for. Myrose lets the thief go and the pair head down to The Undercity .
After being knocked unconscious, Ægira wakes up in a cage, bound and gagged. Managing to free herself, she fends of a bandit who comes to check on her, knocking them unconscious but alerting the other bandits in the building. At this moment, Ileyaries and Myrose enter, having snuck into the back of the Dockside Warehouse within which Ægira is being held. Together, the party managed to defeat the bandits, although one manages to escape. With the battle over, Ægira, Ileyaries and Myrose introduce themselves, although Ægira doesn't reveal that she is a pirate.
