Criminal Activity

While on the run from the church, the group reunites in the city of Phywell. They spend a few days here to recoup but are quickly forced out once the clerics and priests catch up to them. Shirai has an uncomfortable homecoming as he comes face to face with his dad for the first time in many years, and Shin has a showdown with the lone survivor of his monastery.

Shirai didn't originally want to see his dad again since it was his choice to run away from home at a young age, but Shin organized the meet-up. Shirai learns that his mother has since died while he was away, and he wasn't there to say goodbye or even help with the decline of her health. This was the inciting event for Shirai's commitment to the Surge of Murderous Intent (Satsui no Hado). Rather than going through Feyreach, the group decided to retreat into the mountains that Shin came from. It was here that Shin visited the site of the monastery he destroyed in his youth. A lone survivor stood amongst the rubble, patiently awaiting the day Shin would return. This young student challenged Shin to a fight to the death but inevitably refused to fight fair. He possessed Vishara's old Book of the Leviathan- gifted to him by Zhalsuth himself. Shin was diseased with scurvy during the fight, but ultimately was saved by his allies.
