The Underdark

Expedition

The group has departed from Dher Boldar, literal war in their wake. The days have become hard to tell apart. Their travels through the Underdark bounced between mundane and bizarre. Some days were just mindless marching through winding caves. Others, they would find a mindless Duergar mining eternally or even a goblin that was seemingly made of pockets. Eventually, they stumbled across the Gith. First the last member of the Githzerai, then the Githyanki that slaughtered them. At last, through helping the Githyanki, they managed to travel to Hell.   The party splits up here. Shin and Kell go to Hell, Mex goes to Sunnyvale (the city of mimics), and Shale stays behind at Tu'narath.

Their encounter with the Gith proved to be a very mixed interaction. The Githyanki had genocided the Githzerai under the command of the Lich Queen, and the party sympathized... with the Githyanki. By doing a favor for said Lich Queen, they gained access to the Gith's teleportation magic. Shin and Kell went to Hell to track down Salethar, and Mex went to Sunnyvale to track down Roxas. Also, Shale stays as part of a deal Shin made with a local shopowner. This deal led to Shin meeting Kosset, the lord of elemental fire and the progenitor of the Satsui no Hado. Shin learns that he's chosen and on the path to godhood. It's also around this time that Mex and Nahgi's souls merge into one.
