Ante-Calla
There is a lot of land south of Autumn's Breeze , but no one owns it in any appreciable measure. Throughout history, The Breetians have repeatedly tried to make use of the territory, but the terrain has always played a major role in the eventual withdrawal of royal institutions. The land's altitude make breathing difficult (much like the Bitten Range of Winter's BIte), but Ante-Calla has the additional challenge of being so far south of Tzumlah's equator.
It is the true "Cold Place."
Geography
The peaks here are, by a small magnitude, higher than any in the hemisphere. The collision of several plate tectonics produce the enormous altitudes as well as a fair number of active volcanoes. The volcanic activity makes the deep valleys quite fertile for agriculture, and so the peninsula's population mirrors that of Winter's Bite. That is: disparate clans make difficult but peaceful lives wherever they can. Many families have never set foot outside the boundaries of their local watershed.
This craggy, treacherous place makes transportation difficult and perilous. Where prohibitive danger seems to be the defining, common thread which links all the many unknown regions of Tzumlah, this is Ante-Calla's link to the theme. However, as we will examine, some may argue that, despite the cold, Ante-Calla is likely one of the safest places known.
Fauna & Flora
As we know, Ante-Calla's volcanic activity seeds the land with conditions for bountiful summer harvests. The produce here matures quite quickly and proliferate aggressively so as to beat the coming winter months. The clans who live here take advantage of large stocks of nutrition which store well over winter, and are relatively easy to accumulate. The small holdings of human population culturally strive to harmonize with the natural processes here. They are emboldened in their philosophy every time Autumn's Breeze decides to establish a new colony, or mining operation. The natives who witness the colonists try, time and again, to bend this foreign land to human whims also watch the elements frustrate their efforts to the point of no longer being "worthy investments." The terrain is as unforgiving as the winter blizzards.
Curiously, there is a conspicuous dearth of dangerous predator species here. It is a harsh land that rewards hibernation in the long winter months. Mountain lions are the only seriously dangerous fauna, and attacks do occur. However, the people are so spread out that attacks are very few and far between.
It is for these reasons that, at least for the natives and acclimated peoples, that Ante-Calla may be one of the most peaceful regions on the face of Tzumlah.
Natural Resources
Few, and the ones worth getting to are so expensive to reach that other industries in other lands are much more convenient and preferred.
