  During the Second Ky Calan Crusade, Bast of Thundershire was an apprentice cartographer, and Scribe of Simon's Illuminary within the Zenith Archivas, the penultimate accumulation of all Ros Calan knowledge and learning. He rendered this wayfinder under great duress, indeed, for it is also the cry for aid which saved Zenith from Kerrick and her forces. Through a story of love came the only warning of the impending Ky Cala Tide. Kerrick aimed to destroy our history. She would reduce the Four Nations to amnesiac husks of their former glories, and eliminate a critical source of cooperation between us, thereby irrevocably weakening her stalwart foe for generations. The monks and scribes did not trust the warnings of a turncoat, but this Scribe, our Bast of Thundershire, Bast of Ros Cala believed. His colleagues saw him as a pariah for taking the word of that singular foreigner, and quarantined the young man to the most remote chambers of the Archivas. And so Bast spent his days creating this map, which found its way to the Foxes' Den... and here we are; still talking about it to this day.
