People from all over the world congregate here to trade and to enjoy themselves.

Defences

The city's harbour is surrounded by a huge harbour wall to protect the ships from the rough winter storms. Likewise, the entire city is built on stilts to try and protect the buildings from flooding.

Industry & Trade

The city is built on trade from other places with very little manufacturing actually taking place in the city. 
The largest industry in the city is the gambling halls where sailors are parted from their hard earned money.

Infrastructure

The main way to get around the city is I'm carriages along the maze of roads through the city or along the large canal that brings goods from the country side to the docks for world wide trade. 
The city has a huge harbour through which most of the world's trade flows which makes it a centre for commerce.

Districts

Around the ports there is the trade district where goods are checked and stored when they arrive and prepared to ship to other places.
Further away along the central canal sit the stock exchange, the bank and the town hall.
Across from there is the university district, where students from across the world come to study.
Between the docks and the university sits the district known as the Hole. This is a slum district that holds the gambling halls and brothals that tempt the sailors who travel through the docks and give the city it's immoral reputation.

Assets

The city is home to the largest port in the world which deals with hundreds of tonnes of goods every day and brings thousands into the country's economy each year.

The city is known as "Newcity" to differentiate it from the "old city" that held the old ports which had to be abandoned following the great floods about a century ago.
