Silver Squirrel

Purpose / Function

This building was originally just another nameless boarding house in the cheapest part of the city, then it took on new life when it was converted into a gambling house and brothal for the entertainment of the many sailors who pass through the ports. This was when it aquired it's name, The Silver Squirrel, and became one of the most notorious places in the entire city, known by its reputation across the world.

Alterations

During the convertion from a boarding house to what it is now, the entire street facing wall was converted into a window so that passing patrons can see what is on offer there, a large sign in the shape of a squirrel climbing an oaktree was also added, it used to be painted silver but that paint is faded which doesn't matter because it is identifiable anyway now.

Architecture

The building is not too different to the other buildings in the city, bricks filling a wooden frame that stands on stilts to keep the building out of the water when the weather turns wicked. Though warmth can always be found inside.

Defenses

The building itself has no defences, it hardly needs them. Though outside there are always two guards, who keep the house safe from more unscrupulous visitors.

History

The boarding house was built about a century ago, along with the street it stands on. It was aquired by the current owner about twenty five years ago and converted to its current state.

Tourism

This is one of the most popular places for visiting sailors to frequent, it is known by almost all the sailors that frequently travel the trade routes of the world. 
It is spoken of in far off reaches, in the North, South, East and West of the world the residents are famous for their services and many people hold their happiest memories there, as well as the memories of their most bitter losses at cards.
