Ketterzan Army

The Ketterzan Army is made up of the retinues (Druzhina) of the princes of Ketterzan: Prince Oleg of the East, Prince Yuri of the West and Prince Dmitri of the North.

Units

Each Druzhina is mostly structured the same, with the following levels of units.

Bogatyr

The top rank of the Ketterzan army. These specialised Calvaliers are famed for their heroics and honour.

Otroki

Junior trained warriors.

The Pekota infantry consists of mostly conscripts, made up of peasants and tradesmen. They wear thick hide armour (aketon) and are equipped with bear spears (Rogatina) and light crossbows, although they are permitted to use other weapons and armour if they have access to it.

History

When the Fourth Hoary War broke out, the sickly boy Ta-Tzar, Kiril Bashirov was on the throne of Ketterzan and the Cherti Mountains. Too feeble to lead a Druzhina of his own into battle, the Ketterzan Army was established, so that the brave Bogatyrs could lead the forces against the invading Hordes from the eastern Wastes.
