The Blues,
Anwandan, or the Columbines, are one of the four main
goat racing teams competing in
Silford, in addition the Yellows, Greens and
Purples.
Values
The Blues are known as a strong traditionalist team. They are known for opposing changes in the ruleset, and emphasising the competition's role as a celebration of the Gods. The Blues value piety and chastity in their
Racers, and encourages fans to respect their privacy. The Blues originally had strong ties to the clergy, but they have also gained support from more conservative Senatorial families.
History
Founding
The Blues splintered from the Yellows over the question of allowing female
Goat Racer to the competition, after the the Greens had introduced the first women in their ranks. The Blues took the more hardline traditionalist stand, arguing that the dangerous racing career was too dangerous and infamous for the women, and would disrespect the origins of the sport as a military tradition. Since then women have been universally accepted in the competition, but the Blues are still known to take traditionalist stances and oppose reforms in the ruleset.
Competition history
The Yellow and Blue teams have dominated the competition from it's beginning. The Blues attribute the success to the favour of the gods, but it might rather have something to do with much better funding.
