First Racer

The First Racer is a title given to the top racer of one of the main Goat Racing teams. They are the teams most valuable racer, only used in the most important races, and otherwise serving more as the symbolic leader of the team and advisor to the other racers.

Qualifications

The first racer is the team champion, typically chosen by the best performance in the races. However, First Racers also hold a lot of symbolic power, so the charisma of the racer and the public opinion of them also playes a large role in the choise. Especially the Green team have been frequently accused of choosing their First Racer more based on the looks than real merits.

Responsibilities

Because the First Racers are the team's most valuable human asset, they are usually only used in the most important races, and otherwise serve more as the symbolic representative of the team.

They generally live lives strongly controlled by the team, in order to keep them safe, and away of scandals that might harm the team's reputation. They serve as the public face of the team, attending sport events, public and private parties, and being the center of the fans' affection. They are also valuable trainers to younger racers.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The First Racer is usually dismissed when they choose to retire, or suffer a serious injury and can't race anymore. Sometimes they are removed for inappropriate behaviour, deemed to bring reproach to the team. Racers have frequently been caught in scandals of inappropriate sexual behaviour, taking bribes and inciting violent fights between their fans.
