Curyan Star System
The Curyan Star is about 17,000 lightyears from Sol in the Crux arm of the Milky Way galaxy (north-east of Sol). It has a remarkably similar appearance to the Sol system having eight planets and an asteroid belt between the orbits of the fourth and fifth planets. Its third planet is the habitable earth-like Salruta. Its fourth is a likely candidate for terraforming. Past the asteroid belt are four jovian planets.
History
Earth astronomers first discovered Curya in AD 2215 after a supernova was detected in its direction in the Crux arm. The star was notable as it had never been observed before and no information or reference to it was found prior to this first sighting. Due to how it seemingly evaded discovery until then, it was named the Invisible Star.
The exoplanet Salruta was then discovered in 2278. Soon after, the newly formed Earth Ark Project deemed it a colonisation candidate.
The Colony Starship Adam Pagria entered the Curyan system in 2375 and soon began colonisation efforts.
