Quest for the Toe Beans
Though many people know of The Consortium of Cats, few realize the secrets which they hold. Their place in history is in the footnotes, and yet would they think they run things. But to hold such sway over the path of history, they must conspire about it somewhere.
Rumor is, they have a secret kitten base. A place where they can orchestrate things, and perhaps even grant boons and wishes to those they deem worthy. But such a place is only rumored, right? It couldn’t possibly be real. If it were, how would anyone be able to find their way?
This is the quest for the toe beans. There are seven members of The Consortium whom live in Sanctuary and each holds a piece of the greater puzzle. Or more accurately, the greater map.
Though he is loathe to ever discuss it, Edwit Persimmon knows about this map. He an his cousin Tatters the Ratter worked together to create the Toe Bean Map. With Edwit’s cartographic knowledge and skill, alongside Tatters’ inking and tattoo proficiency the pair were put to work by the Consortium. Tattooing sections of the map onto the bottoms of each of the Consortium member’s toes, assures that no one can accidentally stumble upon their secret. But only with the combined cooperation of all seven will the path be revealed.
Edwit and Tatters, as rodents, live in fear of the day that the Consortium decides they know too much. Neither will share the secrets, for fear that reprisal will be swift upon them, and their counterpart.
The quest is broken into seven pieces. For each of the members of the Consortium must be independently woo’d and enticed into friendship. Only when they are so comfortable that they deem to sit upon your lap, purring away, will they possibly show the bottoms of their toes and reveal the secrets they contain.
