Crackrust
While I assume that this was once a great weapon, it has become tainted with evil energies that attempt to unravel it entirely. See how it constantly flakes and crumbles with rust, but never falls entirely apart? From what I can tell, it is imbued with incredible regenerative powers, likely designed to fend off magical attacks, but they are slowing collapsing under the pressure of continually restoring the weapon's form. Make no mistake, it will still protect you should you bring it to bear in combat, but the crumbling curse that affects it will make this weapon much less useful than it certainly once was. -Deckard Cain
Found within the town cathedral during the Darkening of Tristram, the mace was discovered and employed by the heroes who sought to defeat the growing evils within. While the weapon was never as effective in this endeavor as it would have been in its prime, many foes fell before its heavy strikes despite its dwindling powers.
