Gene-Tek employees at Alpha-Site cut ties with their off-world bosses, withdraw into the facility and completely seal it off, leaving automated defenses around the facility's perimeter.

Attempts were made by both Sentinel Station staff and private military contractors in the employ of Gene-Tek but between the automated security and the heavy blast doors, no progress was made before the events of the Collapse made further attempts at entry untenable.
