L’anatomie Empyrée
An aged leatherbound tome of over 300 pages. Time has tinged the leather with an oddly reddish hue. The corners and edges of the binding are protected with bronze tabs and a bronze sun decorates the center of the front cover. The pages are gilded with a bronze color along the edges.
Theologians widely consider this long-lost text to be a philosophical tract delving into the nature of the Holy Trinity in part due to its title, The Divine Anatomy. The work’s lengthy introduction, available in reproductions and forgeries, details the dark spiritual and secular history of a region in Southern France. What follows in the lone complete copy is a horrifying grimoire depicting detailed anatomic illustrations of many demonic and alien entities. According to the text, the dissections took place along with many recorded experiments beneath a medieval cathedral located in a provincial capital in Southern France.
This tome was originally encounter in New Orleans by the investigators in The Cazenave House. The book had been purchased by Arnaud Cazenave because of his professed interest in medical history. After examining the book in more detail with Jackson Elias, the Count decided to sell the book back to Irina Martin, who believed her research indicated the tome had far greater than medical knowldege inside.
