History
The item is of Tiwanaku design, which would date it to the 5th century.

Tiwanaku (also known in Spanish as Tiahuanaco) is a pre-Columbian site in Bolivia, close to the border with Peru, discovered by the Spanish conquistador Pedro Cieza de León in 1549. It has been the site of serious archaeological study since the 1860s. Little is known of its inhabitants, as they left no known written records
Significance
This was one of two items presented by Augustus Larkin in the Bar Cordano in Lima, Peru as evidence of a greather treasure to be found in the Peruvian Highlands.
