Jackson Elias is a resident of New York City and known to smoke a pipe on a regular basis. It makes sense he would have matches from this speakeasy. Why send them by mail?
The match box concealed a special filter (dark light) that allowed ghost ink to be detected on some documents. Hidden messages were found on the inside back of The Hungry Dead, Pangram Cipher, Vigenère Cipher, Combined Cipher, and Insert Page.
