Selune (SUH LOON)
(a.k.a. Lady Moon)
Selune, goddess of the moon of the same name, is traditionally represented as/representative of the outsider in terms of the Sanzeian pantheon. Though accounts are allegorical at best and vary highly, they clearly focus on the idea that she came from somewhere else (debate is centered if she was a goddess originating from another, unknown, continent or even another reality). She has ties to both Luciel and Lyndranel as a celestial deity of the moon, and to The Watcher, Unnamed as deity with a strong tie to magic. She is the patron of lycanthropes, and in generally seen as a benevolent deity; however, she is also portrayed as cold and merciless, echoing the varying phases of the moon.
Mental characteristics
Failures & Embarrassments
Selune has a particular repeated motif in her tales. The goddess is fond of bathing in still lakes under moonlight. The legends tell that should anyone take her clothing before she returns she will trade a wish for it. The nature of the wish and the extent to which the mortal prospers varies highly in these tales with stories reading as everything from "be careful what you wish for" tales to romances.
Intellectual Characteristics
Selune's characterization, much like the moon she represents, varies greatly. Her behavior is often seen a related to the phase of the moon, but does not appear to be in anyway determined by it. She is at times kind and caring, at times cold and even murderous.
