Barleth
A master spearman, and one of the best fighters for the Derash.
He was the leader of his small band, consisting of himself, Egbart, and Quarte. He believes he has been wronged badly by the party during the duel at The Gathering and seeks revenge, and many of the Derash support this belief.
He was killed by the Radiants at the mouth of Sov's cave at the top of Talin Peak, his body dumped off the edge of the pathway to be hidden from prying eyes.
His corpse was later found floating down the river by Garth, Bora, Toland, and Sang. Despite his obvious decay, he still appeared to be alive, stating that "It was far too easy" before having his skull crushed by Garth. His corpse was then slung into a tree to prevent river contamination.
He later reappeared, taken by the Mire and entirely hostile to the Radiants. In a fight over the Shard of the Father he, along with Quarte and Egbart, were driven off, but not before grabbing handfuls of the Shard of the Father and vanishing without a trace.
None of the three were seen again.
