The Radon Sector
Under the orders of the postwar Conglomerate, the North American continent comprised of America and Canada was redesignated in 2001 in line with the Bureau's naming system. Northeastern Canada is now the Argon Sector, while the southwestern region has been assimilated into the Radon sector alongside America.
The Radon Sector is broken down further into 5 regions, each of which contains any states which remain habitable following The Particle Wars:
The Radon Sector is broken down further into 5 regions, each of which contains any states which remain habitable following The Particle Wars:
The Arctic
TX**, MN, AZ, CO, UT, WY*, ID, MT, Saskatchewan, Alberta
Due to its unfortunate position in the path of residual radiation from the Northwest, the Arctic has been bone-white and turned into salt flats following nuclear weather, irradiated ground soil, and irradiated water supply in some areas. Reported to have experienced a 30-45% reduction in growing season between 1999 and 2009, resulting in harsh living conditions and widespread famine for those living in the region.
The Bygones
ME**, VT***, NH, MA***, RI***, CT, NJ***, DE, MD, MI, IN, PA, NY A major theatre of the Particle Wars, the former "East Coast" is now a violent, inhospitable landscape ravaged by nuclear radiation. The Bygones are reported to have experienced a 90% reduction in the growing season due to ambient radiation and nuclear weather, but the environment poses an exponentially greater danger than famine. Above ground and along the Eastern Seaboard, active radiation levels render the environment largely uninhabitable, however the Bureau does use the Bygones as major collection sight for "Bangor Gas" - Noxious green gas containing Polonium-204, Polonium-210, Caesium, Radium, trace amounts of Radon (allows for small chance of surviving exposure). Burns/inflames the skin on contact, more likely to be lethal if inhaled or ingested. Flammable, can be harvested and refined for nefarious purposes by skilled individuals (typically Bureau Nostra). Deposits may also build up in the earth in pockets, which then burst if aggravated or disturbed in any way. Moving further from the seaboard, states become more livable, although the overall climate is still inhospitable.
The Crucible KS, NE, AR, MO, ND, SD, WY*, IA, MN, WI, IL Due to its centralized location on the continent, the Crucible is perhaps the least exposed to the effects of the Particle War of all the regions. While the region is reported to have experienced an approximate 18% reduction in the growing season between 2000-2009, the region remains largely stable. While the Bureau does have a foothold in the city of Crimson Chapel, and occupies the region quite comfortably, the entirely independent community of Beltsville, Kansas is also located within the Crucible. Beltsville remains largely peaceful and out of opposition with the Bureau, but has certainly supplied more than its fair share of rabblerousers and dissenters to the nationalist effort.
The Hollow
LA**, MS, AL, TN, KY, GA, WV, VA**, NC**, SC**, FL, OK
A major foothold in the Bureau's postwar reconstruction efforts, The Hollow has been the sight of a number of civil skirmishes requiring the deployment of the Bureau's 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Special Forces groups. The 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th Special Forces of the Bureau provided UN-style aid at various choke points in the Hollow to diffuse civil war amongst the unsettled natural population of the region following the War. Notably, the former La Grange Opera House in La Grange, Kentucky was established as a Bureau foothold in the Hollow in late 2007, ending the Civil War and providing substantial aid to those living in surrounding areas. After experiencing an estimated 60% reduction in the growing season between 2000-2010 the living is reportedly nearer to frontiering than the highly modern living enjoyed in the Oceanfront, but the region remains (selectively) habitable and is in fact a major mining site for the Bureau's Auxiliary Corps.
The Oceanfront
CA, NV, OR, WA, HI, British Columbia, Yukon Territory
Though the Oceanfront region represents a second theatre of the Particle Wars and has seen an approximate 18% reduction in the growing season from 2000-10, its habitability and potential for rehabilitation is the highest in the entirety of the Radon Sector - this is believed to be due to the region's unique combination of biomes, particularly chapparal and desert climates. California in particular remains a major site of Bureau operations, with the Bureau's Radon Sector Headquarters located in Bella Muerte (formerly Ceasefire), California. The Oceanfront is easily the region with the greatest technological advantages, among which the renowned Oxylux magnetic suspension barrier that protects Bureau cities in the region is not the least. The Oceanfront is also home to the Morticians, a group of vigilante artists wanted for questioning by the Stratum.
Military
Religion
Religion is designated 'radioactive' and harmful to the nationalist rebuild effort per the Axioms.
If you cannot kill a wolf, what good are you to the Radon Sector?
KEY* = NEUTRAL GROUND
** = UNINHABITABLE/GONE
*** = BANGOR GAS DEPOSITS
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES3 large, 2 small regions
- The Arctic and the Crucible do not require Oxylux technology, as they are central flyover states that are all landlocked with few or no major targets within
Each region has a Bureau and refurbished American Forts to house and train draftees - except for the Capital, which does all on site
- Fort Riley (Crucible)
- Fort Bascom (Arctic)
- Bureau Headquarters (Oceanfront)
- Fort Hawkins (The Hollow)
- Fort Ticonderoga (Bygones)

Currency
The official currency of the Radon Sector is the xenon chip, which are denominated in 1s, 5s, 10s, 20s, 50s, and 100s. Digital credit accessed through the BEACON software system is also acceptable. Paper money minted by the old American government is historically only used by criminal elements looking to operate outside of the law.
Legislative Body
The laws of the Sector are written, ratified, and dictated by the Stratum, the Bureau's upper echelon of government working in tandem with the Geiger.
Executive Body
The executive body of the Bureau's Stratum for any given sector is its Geiger - in the case of the Radon Sector, the Geiger is Brigadier General Viron Thrice, II.
