Chiyemi is a daughter of Baroness Kagami ap Dauli.
Chiyemi is a twin, but she is technically the first born, having been born roughly ten minutes before her twin brother, Lord Eito ap Dauli, so she was the heir apparent to her mother's baroness title.
She was only a mediocre sorceress, but she was smart and ambitious. It was said, only half in jest that she was "the evil twin". She wanted more for herself than to inherit a minor barony and got involved in Swynfaredian intrigue and was killed by a hired assassin in Blue River City.
The assassin was captured and executed, but they never figured out who he worked for. Given how enthusiastic Eito took to the idea of being Baron, he was a suspect though there was no direct evidence tying him to the assassin and Chiyemi certainly had plenty of rivals in Blue River City.
If Eito was responsible, his show of grief was very good acting. When questioned that Chiyemi was leaning towards relinquishing her claim on the Baroness title anyway.
