Arborean Sun Elves

The Sun Elves are the beloved sons of Danu, the Goddess of Life and Nature. They are a very religious and militaristic people, strictly divided in hundreds of caste and battle orders. The Sun Elf are a very advanced people, with a magical knowledge that con be considered equal to that of the Phan. The Kingdom of Arborea, the heart of the Elf Kingdom was never conquered by the The Almighty Empire, and they have beat back each and every attack of the Imperial fleets.

Fair of complexion and with platinum to blonde-chestnut hair the true Sun elves possess an unearthly beauty, for they are the firstborn and favored child of Arva (goddess of beauty and the wind). Very long lived, they spend a lot of time in personal interest, studying magic is only one of their interest. The history of the Sun elf before the coming of the Phan it’s not clearly documented, but some documents report that the Sun elf existed before, in a forgotten age of technology.

Sun elves have a natural understand of magic and their society is pervaded by magic, very few items produced in the Kingdom of Arborea are not magical in some way. Their armed forces are a true marvel to behold when arrayed for war. Giant construct grab enemy flying ship from the sky to smash them, archer units that fire energy arrow and never end their ammunitions, Pegasi mounted cavalry and so on.

As their society is extremely ancient and static, they have evolved a strict regime of castes, with no or very rare possibility of advancement. All Sun Elf must spend the first 40 years of their life learning the basic of their multifaceted culture, and the next 50 as warrior, charged with the defense of the kingdom. After 90 years they are considered full members of the society, can marry and have children.

This ensures to have a stable and strong army and when needed all the members of the society are more than skilled in combat. Every different caste develop a different fighting style, some more effective than other, but all lethal.

There's no better beverage on Valenor than the Elven wine, suitable for the most discerning palates and with no intoxicating effect, is the showpiece of aristocratic banquets and official receptions.

The Elvish Levitationals are purely a creation of magic, in fact, the Sun Elves caste of Harbingers of Light achieves the objective of keeping a ship flying with object that emit beams of solid light underpinning the ship. At any time an Elf ship stand on a dozen or more “legs” made of solidified light, to move the crew shut off some beam, so technically the ship “fall” forward. Switching on new legs keep this process replicable ad infinitum.

Sun Elven Sails are masterpiece of magic art, made in secret by the elf caste of the Women-Butterflies, these are able to accumulate levitational energy to astoundig levels.

The Sun Elven warrior caste of the SpellSinger is able to deflect attacks before they reach their target, reducing damage caused to the ship.

 

Standard Racial Traits

Arborean Elf character have a variety of natural abilities, the result of thousands of years of elven refinement.

  • Age: Although elves reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans, the elven understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. An elf typically claims adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be 750 years old.
  • Alignment: Elves love freedom, variety, and self-expression, so they lean strongly toward the gentler aspects of chaos. They value and protect others' freedom as well as their own, and they are more often good than not.
  • Size: Arborean Elves range from under 160cm to over 190cm tall and have slender builds. A Sindran elf size is Medium.
  • Speed. An elf base walking speed is 6 Hx.
  • Darkvision: Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. An Elf can see in dim light within 12Hx of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. They can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
  • Keen Senses: +2 racial bonus on Listen, Search, and Spot checks. An elf who merely passes within 1 Hx of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Search check to notice it as if she were actively looking for it.
  • Fey Ancestry: Immunity to magic sleep effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells or effects.
  • Trance: Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

Arborean Sun Elves

  • Ability Score Increase: +2 Dexterity, +1 Intelligence, –1 Constitution.
  • Elf Weapon Training: An Arborean elf have proficiency with all the weapons with "Elven Training" trait.
  • Cantrip: Arborean Elves know one cantrip of his choice from the wizard spell list. Intelligence is the spellcasting ability for it.
