Masters of the Arcaneum

The Arcaneum is a place where some of the strongest wizards of all Valenor live and teach. It is a school for talented children in all arcane disciplines who are sent here to become the wizards of tomorrow.

This school of magic is open to everyone as long as they can pay the tuition, but there are also places for children who cannot afford the tuition. This school is neutral ground, there are no preferences or exclusions for reasons of politics, race or alignment. The only exceptions are to the teaching of magic: wizards who believe in Melethis, the God of Magic, are welcome but cannot teach their religious approach to magic.

This school was the first place where magic was taught according to the Phan concept, magical "Theories" are among the most popular courses. Some courses are also available on the old classical methods (the Magic Classes), but they are not very popular. Graduating from this school is a pass for many important jobs and often young people from rich families try to study at the Arcaneum, but if they are not really inclined to magic they find the exams so difficult that they cannot continue.

Those who manage to graduate will proudly carry the winged Arcaneum horse embroidered on their clothes, or a yellow and red rosette when not possible.
